London Marathon 2018

Sunday, April 22, 2018

Impressions from an amazing weekend. I had the chance to meet many inspiring runners conquering the hottest London Marathon in history or are fellow therapists.

The atmosphere and support along the route were amazing. Runners told us that they were given ice lollies, water and sweets to keep them from spectators to keep them going and cope with the heat.

A massive congratulations to all those who managed to finish. You might not have achieved the time you aimed for (something we heard over and over again at the massage station) but you all fought and have truly a reason to be proud of yourself. Remember running the London Marathon is a dream that will not come true for many people.

Let's take a minute to remember Matt Campbell who lost his life was taken too soon. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Cycle India Challenge

Saturday, March 24, 2018

We all know a friend, workmate, colleague or family member fighting a hard battle against cancer. And we all know that not every battle is won. During the last decade, the research has brought a wide variety of cancer treatments and more and more people win the battle. But on the other hand, the unhealthy side effects of modern society contribute to a sharp rise in new cancer cases.

I lost my granddad and a dear friend and a former workmate to cancer.

Women V Cancer is a series of women-only cycle challenges in aid of three British charities – Breast Cancer Care, (RCN: 1017658), Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust (RCN: 113354/SCO41236) and Ovarian Cancer Action (RCN: 1109743) – raising vital funds to fight breast, cervical and ovarian cancers. I am taking on the big challenge to do a charity bike ride in India in November for Women V Cancer.

To learn more about the challenge, my reasons to participate and my way to get there follow the link below. I would like to thank everyone who supports me. Let's stand up together and raise the funds so the researchers can cure more people we know and love.
